English language and literacy support
Resources and individual / small group assistance is available to improve oral and written English expression, as well as reading comprehension and listening. We help students improve their English language skills as this can make a big difference to their studies and later employment.
Academic and study support
KAPS Institute of Management provides workshops and seminars for students to assist them to achieve high levels of competency with their studies. A range of topics are delivered: study and organizational skills, thinking skills, note taking, time management, comprehension, oral presentations, team work, stress management and much more.
Counseling services
Students can make an appointment with the institute's Psychologist or the Student Support Services Officer, who can assist professionally with a range of issues. Issues which might impact on study include making transitions to a new culture and feeling somewhat isolated, personal matters, coping with stress, anxiety or depression, relationships, work, general financial management, health and wellbeing.
Job Search and Career Advice
We provide a range of support services to maximize employment opportunities for our students. We contact relevant industry groups to employ students for part time or casual employment. We assist students with job information on a range of data bases. We also assist with career planning, interview preparation, resume writing, personal development, work experience and labor market information.

Accommodation Assistance
There are a number of housing options available to international students. Our staff can help you to source and acquire affordable, safe and convenient accommodation. Students are encouraged to research their options and select the best arrangement that suits their budget and study requirements. We can book temporary accommodation for you, but you will need to contact us at least three days prior to arrival by completing the accommodation assistance form. There are a range of private housing options including shared housing, studio apartments or private home stay.
Living costs in Melbourne are relatively one of the best. When calculating the cost of living bear in mind a budget for food, transport, clothing and entertainment. Costs vary and depend on the student's lifestyle and type of accommodation.
Airport Reception
We can arrange arrival services to collect students from Melbourne airport. to a destination within Melbourne . If you require this service, you simply need to complete the airport pick-up form which will be in the offer package. You can also download the form. A fee of $90.00AUD covers transport costs and we require 3 days notice if you need this service.
Student Outdoor Programs
International students are encouraged to participate in a range of sport and recreational activities. Inclusion of regular physical exercise and being active is important for maintaining health and is a great way of forming friendships. KAPS Club organizes day trips and weekend vacation field trips to a range of tourist destinations such as Great Ocean Road and Wilson's Promontory. These are a fun way to relax. |
