Course Description
KAPS offers high quality general and specialist English language programs for international students across two streams:

ESL Access and ESL Further Study.

The Access stream is for students who wish to develop general language and literacy skills and knowledge to participate in the Australian community. It is also a pathway
to the Further Study stream. Grammar, pronunciation, vocabulary and conversational English are developed using computer assisted technology and social contexts.

The Further Study stream is best suited to those students who wish to develop and extend their English language and literacy skills and knowledge to make the transition
into mainstream study at an Australian education institute. Students are provided with an opportunity to learn relevant academic skills such as reading comprehension, formulating a report or planning and writing assignments, participating in tutorial discussions, giving oral presentations, listening to lectures and reading a variety of text structures. The main goal is that once students have completed this stream,
they are able to succeed and participate effectively in their course.

Entry into a particular level of the course is assessed at the beginning to identify strengths and weaknesses. This enables teachers to individually tailor a program to suit the student’s needs. An assessment of English level is also provided at the completion of the course.
