Entry Requirements for Domestic Students

The minimum entry requirements for our courses are set to ensure that applicants have the ability to succeed in their studies. KAPS observes equal opportunity laws and anti-discrimination laws.

The entry requirements for domestic students are as follows:

  • Successful completion of Year 12 or equivalent for Diploma level courses.
  • Ability to succeed in the selected course if Year 12 is not completed, through demonstrated ability.
  • Relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Competency in basic literacy and numeracy level as assessed at the time of application.
  • An interview which provides information on the course, fees, teaching methods, assessments, Credit transfers and RPL, Student Support Services and relevant  policies and legislations impacting on the course.

How to Apply (Domestic Students)

  • Complete and sign the KAPS institute of Management’s Domestic students Application form.
  • Enclose certified copies of all academic transcripts.
  • Attend an interview during which your goals are reasons for entry into the course and ability to succeed are evaluated. The interview will also provide applicants with information regarding the course.
  • Successful applicants will receive a letter of offer (either conditional or unconditional).
  • To secure an offer, a student agreement Form must be signed and dated. The student agreement must be signed before any fees are accepted.
  • Once the Student Agreement is received, the Orientation Program will be sent to you.

Securing Jobs for Your Future- Skills for Victoria

KAPS Institute of Management offers government subsidized places to domestic students under the Securing Jobs for Your Future- Skills for Victoria initiative. This government initiative is to assist you to upgrade your existing skills to gain qualifications to enhance your career. Government subsidized positions are available for our Certificate and Diploma and Advanced Diploma level courses in vocational education. Specifically, these are in Hospitality, Automotive, Community welfare and Management courses.

In 2011 you are eligible for a government subsidised training place if you:

Meet one of the following citizen/residency status:

  •  Australian citizen
  •  Australian Permanent Resident (holder of a permanent visa)
  •  holder of a Special Category Visa (sub-class 444, New Zealand citizen)
  •  East Timorese asylum seeker, or
  •  holder of a Temporary Protection Visa.

And are any of the following:

  •  an applicant seeking a Foundation skills course;
  •  an applicant who is an Apprentice; or
  •  an applicant seeking a higher qualification than the higest qualification already held is eligible for    the Victorian Training Guarantee
