1. Course Description
This is a nationally accredited course recognized throughout Australia. It enables students to develop and enhance comprehensive foundational skills vital to a career in management. The course equips students to work at a senior management level in a range of industry sectors. Students will learn about skills and knowledge for more senior managerial responsibilities. Applicants usually have some experience in management and may oversee work of others from a strategic leadership point of view.
The course develops key leadership skills in strategic business planning, managing change and continuous improvements, managing people and budgeting.
Job titles include:
- Area Manager
- Department Manager
- Regional Manager
Employability Skills: This qualification incorporates employability skills. Employability skills apply across a variety of jobs and life contexts. 2. Course Duration
This course is typically 20 weeks in duration for classroom-based learning. International students are required to study full time. Classes may be available during the week or evenings or weekends. This qualification is also available for a range of flexible delivery modes and variable duration for domestic students and industry. Opportunities are available for supervisors to gain recognition for prior learning, work or other life experiences through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, thus shortening the course.
3. Course Structure
This qualification requires the successful completion of 8 units of competency.
These consist of:

4. Entry Requirements
- Age over 18 years
- Satisfactory completion of Year 12 or equivalent
- A minimum English Language proficiency of 5.5 IELTS or equivalent (international students)
- Mature age entry with relevant industry experience may be considered

6. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT)
AQTF qualifications and Statement of Attainment issued by another registered training organization will be recognized by KAPS. Credits for units of competency and qualifications will be granted in accordance with the Credit Transfer Policy and the Mutual Recognition of Qualifications Policy. Students may apply for RPL in accordance with our RPL Policy. This may shorten the course and for international students it may affect the student visa.
7. Fees and Charges
The fees for this course are set out in the Letter of offer. Fees charged may include the cost of text books, materials or learner guides.
Domestic students may be eligible for government funding, depending on a number of criteria. Please contact us for the eligibility criteria. Domestic students who are not eligible for government funding, may still apply for the course as full fees paying students.
8. Qualifications and Recognition
To achieve this qualification all eight (8) units of competency must be successfully completed. On successful completion, the BSB60407 Advanced Diploma of Management will be awarded. Students completing only one or more units of competency will be issued with a nationally recognized Statement of Attainment.
KAPS recognizes qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other registered training organizations under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
9. Pathways
This qualification provides a pathway to Bachelor Degree programs for successful applicants at leading universities in Australia.
